Birchbox: Box 2

I had a hard time waiting to make this post, but I wanted to give everything a try so I could review them properly.

The January Box theme was Clarity, and it included some cool inserts.

This soap smelled wonderful! It leaves you feeling squeaky clean. Now for me, I prefer a more moisturizing feeling, but this is great for that tight feeling.

This cream at regular size is $115! The reviews for it are insanely positive, so I was pretty stoked to try it. I'm finally at the bottom (a little goes a long way), and though I liked it, I don't get what all the fuss was about. It smelled nice, but it had oddly sharp little pieces in it (like salt). After using it for a few weeks, I never noticed a big different. I think it might be better for anti-aging, and being I'm only 22, there aren't really any wrinkles to take care of.

Ooo Ooo Ooo! I love this liner! Blue! Glitter! Waterproof! It looks awesome and goes on easy. I highly recommend it.

I was disappointed with this. I'm pretty picky about perfume given my high sense of and sensitivity to smells. And this, well it kinda just smelled like typical perfume. You know, high alcohol content, fake floral smell. I don't plan on wearing it.

I hear good things about Larabar. They stick to few ingredients, and legit healthy food. I can't say I loved this bar, but I didn't hate it. So if I ever need a food bar (which I rarely get since they can be pretty pricey), I'll get Larabar. (wow, that sounded really cheesy haha)

Bonus item: a magnet! It's the Birchbox symbol, very cute. But it's not strong at all, barely holds a piece of paper haha. But I like how it looks.

Click here if you'd like to sign up with Birchbox! It's probably the best thing I've ever done!
Note; Clicking the link gets me points with Birchbox, which means I'll get to review more stuff.

Food Tasting Round 2

Oh man, I love food. I mean, seriously. I am a glutton. I wish I could eat out for every meal, ugh.

Ahem, so on that note, we had the second food tasting! We tried chicken with three different sauces, and it was easy to pick the winner. It's also so weird and different and ahhh I love it! I can't wait for people to try it!

Then we tried some sides (another easy pick), and then some more appetizers. They were all just so neat! I'll make sure to get plenty of photos of the food at the wedding to show you guys. I am just way too excited about the food.

Nothing much new since I posted last week. Some good days with the chiro, some bad. But definitely progress. In bummer news, I keep getting a rash along my jaw and neck. I think it might be related to my hair, since it seems worse after I shower. Which really sucks because I absolutely love my shampoo and conditioner. But meh, they aren't eco friendly so I could be doing better. We'll have to see if it's both of them causing the problem or just one.

Final note, I'm on Pinterest! Feel free to add me:)

Food Tasting Round 1

We had our first food tasting for the wedding! It went pretty well and it was so fun getting to try a bunch of food! We tried four hors d'oeuvres first. I'm not going to tell you what we tried because I don't want to spoil the surprise. But two of them were really awesome. Then we tried two fish entrees and two chicken entrees. I was in love with both fish options (we picked the first one though, everyone loved that), but the chicken was kinda so-so. Because we couldn't really decide on that, we're going to do another tasting next Sunday. We'll try some more chicken, some more hors d'oeuvres, oh and also some sides.

Goodness it was fun! Part of me wanted to take pictures to show what we had, but mostly I want to wait till the actual reception.

In other news, David and I have become hooked on comics. He's devouring a bunch of Batman ones. I just read through the Y: The Last Man series, and I'm also reading any Batman comics that focus on Poison Ivy (my favorite villain). It's been fun going to the library and coming out with huge stacks of comic books.

I'm also still knitting, though I haven't really gotten better or farther. I found out there's this cool yarn shop in Downtown Fred that offers beginners classes, but I think I'll wait and ask for that for my birthday because of the money. I did get a library book on beginner's knitting though so maybe that'll help me out.

I'm still going to the Chiropractor. It's hard to say if much has changed, which isn't surprising given how bad my spine is. But the headaches are still pretty bad so it's been hard to do much (like hang with friends, arg!). I am hopeful, I just hate how helpless I am right now. But I've got comics, David, and knitting to get me through!

Hm, what could that sound be....

I've been knitting! I actually fulfilled a New Years resolution! I went to Hobby Lobby, grabbed the most normal looking needles I could find, some pretty yarn, and then checked out youtube for help. And check it out! It's certainly not perfect; it's got a few holes and what nots, and I have no idea what to do besides these loop things I keep doing (I also don't know the names for anything), but it's happening! There's a yarn shop in Downtown Fred that I'm gunna check out at some point and see if they have any classes or anything. But yeah! I did it! And it's very addicting. I have to be careful to not do too much and kill my hands lol.

I just got back from the Chiropractor! I had gotten a bunch of tests/x-rays done on Friday and Monday he went over it all with me. The x-ray pictures are hard to see but here's this:

So if you can't tell from the image, I have slight scoliosis, a straight neck, and my head is waaaaay forward from my shoulders. Aka, my body is messed up :P

I'm on a plan at the moment to see him three times a week. Just after the first adjustment, my body went crazy. My stomach got upset, and then my legs started hurting horribly. My body just doesn't know what to make of these changes and it's kinda going nuts. This might be for a while, but I'm hopeful that I'm slowly getting better.

I also got puctual plugs in my eyes; they help moisturize my eyes! I'm happy with them except that I can still feel the left one, so I'm probably going to have to go back and get it pushed down farther.

Anywho, that's pretty much what I've ben up to. I'm going to be hurting for a while but in the end it's gunna help:)

I've had fibro for awhile now, and it still hasn't quite clicked that everybody else doesn't feel how I feel. It hurts so much when I'm poked, so I naturally assume it does for everyone else. So when friends poke me, I figure they realize how much pain they're causing, and it's odd to me that they would want to do so. But I guess when they're poked, it doesn't hurt. Which is just really difficult to wrap my brain around since I can't remember a time that poking didn't hurt.

Just a random thought on my mind, heh.

New Years

My New Years was spent simply: playing games, watching Adventure Time, and just enjoying each other's company. I'm very blessed for the friends I have.

I know some people find resolutions to be silly or pointless, but I enjoy making them. And the simpler the better. This year I've made two!

1. Learn to knit. I follow so many folks who knit, and I've always been envious. The ability to make something that lasts for so long is so amazing to me. I don't know if I'll be any good, but I'm going to give it a go.

2. Learn to make bread. It's something that can be made so many different ways, and I love how personal it is. I might not physically up to doing it often, but just knowing I can would be great.

I'm also picking up my ukulele again and seeing if I can finally learn to play it. My fingers get sore easily so it's a slow process, but being able to play a simple song or two would be awesome.

Anywho, I hope everyone has a great New Year!
