Cookout and Scribblish

David and I had a cookout with some friends the other day. David grilled corn and veggie burgers(yum!). I made pasta salad and drinks.

I made pineapple limeade, oh my gosh, it was the most heavenly thing ever. I want to drink it every day if possible.

Together we made banana pudding. 4 boxes of pudding mix, layers of banana slices, vanilla wafers, and a surplus of redi whip.

After eating we played one of our favorite games, Scribblish. It's like a mix between Telephone and Pictionary. Here are some random pictures from the night:

Kate and Fernando! It was so awesome finally meeting him.

Alex with a sly grin.

Cheryl brought her ukulele:)

Fern reading his Scribblish paper. That's Roger in the hat.

David dying over something. Mary is in the chair.

Sandy kept us company haha.

It was a pretty awesome night!

Games and Pups

We hung out with our friends Mary and Roger on Sunday. We chilled at Mary's, who has these adorable pugs named Scoot and Boogie. They're so noisy with their breathing and love to walk all over you if you're on the floor(which we were).

You can tell which ones my favorite ;)

After hanging with the dogs for a while, we decided to play this game called Settlers of Catan. David and I hadn't played before, but we got hooked pretty fast.

It's a board game that involves claiming the most territories and what not.

Man it was good. However it can get pretty intense, so we were way worn out by the third game. The fact that our friendships survived this game says a lot haha.

Harry Potter!

David and I went and saw the Death Hallows Part 2. Oh man, it was so good! We decided to go all out, so we went to a new theater in Fredericksburg. You buy your tickets ahead of time, chose your seats(which were leather and had moveable arm rests to make them into loveseats), then get access to a 21+ club/lounge.

It was decorated so beautifully! Huge chandeliers, old photos, satins and leather.

We sat at the bar and they had a bunch of Harry Potter themed drinks.

David got a Slytherin; I believe it had pineapple, rum, and some other stuff.

I got a Gryffindor, which had cherry vodka, sour mix, and other stuff.

They were both pretty yummy. We were kinda hungry so we decided to get sushi. It was to go, so we got to take it into the theater. By the way, the VIP seats(what we picked) are in a separate balcony from the rest of the theater, and you get escorted to your seats. So flippin fancy!

Oh it was so wonderful. The food and seating were great, the movie was wonderful (I bawled my eyes out), just the whole night was awesome. It was pretty expensive though so I doubt will do it again, but I'm glad we did:)

Carrot Cake Cookies

Today I made Carrot cake cookies! It's really easy, but tastes oh so heavenly. It's just cake mix(any works), 1/3 cup veg oil, and 2 eggs.

I love gifs...

The batter will be super sticky, which might seem a bit off, but no worries. That's how it should be.

Bake for 8-12 minutes at 350.

Cute little cookies. I think smaller is better. You'll see why in a sec.

You have to use cream cheese frosting with carrot cake. It's a law.

Frost the bottom of one, then smack another on top.

And they're done!

Are you drooling yet?

So so good! They're pretty rich and fill you up fast. They also go really good with lemonade. I highly recommend them!

River Attempt

David and I have been wanting to go to the river for a while. On a whim we decided to go today, but didn't realize until we got there at 6:30 that the parking lot closed at 7! However we got in the water anyways, even if it was for just a few minutes. We were both surprised at how cool the water was! David just chilled on his knees since he's so tall; I stood and the water when to my collar bone haha.

The part of the river we went to has a little beach. It was weird being able to walk in sand without an ocean! It was really nice though, and it was cool how calm the river was (though I'm sure it isn't always like that). You could also see the river floor no matter how deep we went.

We definitely plan on going back, though with a bit more time hopefully (and picture taking).

Dinner Theater

On Wednesday, David, MomW, and I went to a dinner theater. Even though the play ended up being a bit of a disappointment, the food was delicious and we had a really fun time. It helps to be able to just laugh and acknowledge that things aren't going exactly as hoped. :)

David and MomW both got Mango Chiptole Chicken.

I got Lemon Herb Tilapia, it was so good! It was my first time having Tilapia; I'm officially hooked. I'm gunna try cooking my own sometime.

MomW got Strawberry Amaretto Cake. It's kind of a weird combination of flavors, but it was pretty tasty.

David got Pineapple Sorbet in a cute pineapple. It was really hard so it took a while to eat, but he loved it.

I got Creamsicle Cheesecake! Oh goodness, it was wonderful.

Coffee to keep us awake through the show haha.

It was fancy dim lighting, so the picture isn't great, but I'm glad we got one. We don't have a lot of us together, so I'm trying to work on remembering to do that whenever we go places.
